Top 10 Christmas Restaurants in London for 2023

Top 10 Christmas Restaurants in London for 2023

It really is the best time of the year—and it's finally here!

The festive season is when London is at its best. The iconic Trafalgar Square Christmas tree, ice-skating at Somerset House, the Oxford Street lights, and Winter Wonderland all get the festive feels going.

But, let's be real. It's all about the food. The twinkling lights and roaring fire are great, but the main event will always be the mince pies, brandy butter, and traditional turkey (with all the trimmings). And Brussels sprouts—if they're your thing.

London really dazzles at Christmas, and there's an overwhelming amount of choice when it comes to choosing a restaurant for your Christmas lunch or dinner.

So, we've done the hard work for you and whittled down a long list of our favourites into the top twelve contenders for festive feasting. From limited edition cocktails to five-course menus, we've got all the classics—and a few more (ever tried a garam masala Christmas pudding?).

Here are the best Christmas restaurants London has to offer. Queue the Christmas carols, grab a mulled wine and some cosy blankets, and enjoy.

Let’s ho-ho-ho!

1. Madison London

We're off to a strong start with Madison, which takes inspiration from the classy, eclectic New York dining scene. With fantastic views, a rooftop terrace (wrap-up warm!), and an inviting dining room, it ticks all the boxes. The Madison is a great choice for the Christmas season, with DJs and live music in the lounge to get the festive feels going.

Their Christmas menu is, to be honest, a festive work of art. Featuring confit duck, teriyaki sea bass, and fillet steak, followed by Christmas pudding Tarte Tatin—you’ll be rolling home. It’s a little different from your standard turkey and veg—perfect for trying something new this Christmas.

2. Gaucho Covent Garden

Gaucho is a name that's pretty well-known in the London restaurant scene. A revered Argentinian steakhouse producing some of the best steaks in the country, it's no surprise that their seasonal specials menu includes a 250g Ribeye, a Churrasco de Chorizo, and (best of all) Chimichurri butter roast turkey.

While perhaps not the best option for veggies (you'll find only a grain salad on the festive menu), Gaucho should be at the top of your list if you're a fan of beef empanadas and provoleta. The Argentinians sure know how to do a smashing steak, so don't miss out on their wonderful Christmas lunch. Steakmas?

3. Tattu

No London restaurant embraces the festive season quite like Tattu. Celebrating the coming together of cultures with a totally unique culinary experience centred around Asian fusion, Tattu has unveiled its 2024 festive theme: The Great Snow

You'll find a great variety of festive interiors around London at this time of year, but Tattu tops the list. With themed cocktails (dry ice is the least of it), spiced apple sticky toffee pudding, and chocolate 'dragon eggs', this is a fun immersive experience for everyone. If you're brave enough, you can wrap up in one of their fur throws and sip champagne on their gorgeous roof terrace.

A little restaurant in buzzing Soho, Sussex serves local British produce and seasonal dishes with a strong focus on wine pairings. If you’re a fan of experimental food, we'd recommend their 'Christmas Express menu’, which boasts a line-up of mushroom marmite éclairs, turkey sausage rolls, trout gravadlax, venison and artichoke purée, and goat's cheese with wild hazelnuts.

With three courses at £30 per person, and four at £35 per person, it's a well-priced festive feast with rave reviews. Plus, it’s the perfect stop after you head to see the famous Covent Garden Christmas Tree.
