Introduction

Here at Ambl, we take the privacy of our users very seriously.  This notice explains what information we are collecting about you, and how we use it.  It gives you some details about the rights you have around your information, how long we keep your details and explains our use of cookies and similar technologies.

If you have any questions about anything in this notice, please contact hello@ambl.co

Who we are

We are Ambl!  Our registered  name and address is Ambl Group Limited, 1 Nelson Street, Southend on Sea, Essex, SS1 1EG, and our company number is 13501354.  Where you see the words “we” or “us” in the following notice, we mean Ambl.

What do we collect?

We collect your name, log in credentials (email and password), location, and the information you provide about the reservation you want to make.  All of this information will be provided by you when you sign up and when you use the app.  We do not collect information about you from third parties.

If we are running a competition or prize draw, we will collect your contact details (such as name, email address and employer name) when you enter the competition.

Why do we collect this information?

The log in information is collected so that you can maintain an account with us, and access the app.

We collect your name, reservation requirements and location so that we can send you potential bookings in your area.

We pass your name and your requirements (but not your location), to our list of venues that are local to you, so that they can inform us whether they can accommodate your request.

If you favourite a venue, you can opt in to receiving updates about that venue.  These come via us, and we do not pass your details to the venue in order to provide this service.

We may also need this information to correspond with your, or others on your behalf, for the purposes of dealing with any feedback or complaints that may arise.

When you enter a competition, we use your contact details to: enter you into the competition; allocate prizes; contact you about your prize if you are successful; and publicise the success of the competition. We may also use your email address to sign you up to our mailing list if this was included as part of the competition. You can opt out of these mailings at any time by contacting hello@ambl.co.

What is the legal basis for this?

The legal basis that we rely on when you sign up and submit information about your reservation requirements is known as “contract”.  This is because we have entered into an agreement to provide services to you, and the information you provide is necessary so that we can fulfil your request.

When you favourite a venue and opt into receiving updates, we rely on your consent to facilitate this.  You can withdraw your consent at any time by following the procedure in the app.  Any consent given will remain valid until the point it is withdrawn.

Where we are using your information for the purposes of dealing with feedback or complaints, this is a legitimate interest of ours to ensure that we are providing a high level of service to you. The legal basis for this use is therefore “legitimate interests”.

When we use your information to facilitate a competition, we use legitimate interests as our legal basis. This is because it is a legitimate interest of ours to promote our business in this way, and in your interests that you can have a chance at winning the competition.

When we use your email address to sign you up to a mailing list, you will have provided your consent to this at the time. You can withdraw this consent at any time by emailing hello@ambl.co

Who has access to the data?

As mentioned above, we will send your name and reservation requirements to local venues in order to fulfil your request.  We will not share with them any further information such as your location or contact details.

Otherwise, we will share your personal data with third parties where required by law, where it is necessary to administer the working relationship with you or where we have another legitimate interest in doing so.

If ever in the future, we are considering restructuring Ambl we may share your information with the other parties involved and with the relevant professional advisors.  This is for our legitimate interests in making sure that potential buyers and partners have the information that they need about the business.

We may also share your personal data with third parties if we have a legal obligation to do so or for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Sometimes we will use third party service providers who act on our behalf such as IT services providers, or other professional advisors.  Where it is necessary to do so, we may need to share your information with them, so that they can carry out the services we have requested.

Overseas Transfers

We do not routinely transfer information outside of the UK, and our servers are currently based in the UK.

How long do we keep the information?

We keep the information that you provide for as long as you have an account with us, so that you can log on at any time and use the app.  By deleting your account, we will also delete your information, unless we have a legal obligation to keep it, or we are in the process of resolving an issue with you and your information is relevant to that.
